LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents, Julie and Henry and my younger brother, Ryan.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is definitely science because I love to learn about the processes and systems that make up the world we live in. Whether it’s the general anatomy of an animal, how certain chemicals react with one another or the genetics behind the traits we have, I love every part of it.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received Principal’s Honor Roll and the Academic Excellence Award every year, as well as the Excellence in Health Award in 10th grade, the Excellence in Latin Award in 11th grade and the Engaged Citizen in Science Award in 11th grade. I also received second place in the Organismal Biology and Evolution division of the Biology Olympics this year.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society, Hornet Ambassadors, Key Club, Interact Club and the Biology Olympics. I also work at Maple Hills Veterinary Hospital and volunteer at Emmaus Moravian Church as a nursery helper. Through these activities, I have become more involved in my community and school and found my passion for helping others thanks to them.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. One of my biggest challenges to date would be COVID-19, probably along with many other people because it isolated us from our friends and family.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I will be attending Penn State University Main Campus for animal science (pre-vet track) in the fall and veterinary school after my undergrad.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents because they are always there for my brother and me and are our biggest supporters in everything we do. They never let us walk away from the things that challenge us and stick by our side when things get tough. They are always able to make me laugh and I will be forever grateful for them.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a kind and hardworking person who cares for others and is determined to reach her goals.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Always be kind. You never know what other people are going through, so it’s best to treat others the way you want to be treated.
