Emmaus boys track improves to 8-0

The Emmaus boys track and field team continued its successful season with a victory last Monday afternoon over Nazareth, 123-27.

“Our boys team is by far the strongest team we have had at Emmaus High School,” Emmaus coach Kami Reinhard said.

The high praise was rewarded with yet another strong performance in the win over the Blue Eagles. Blaise Verrastro looked good in winning the 100-meter and 200-meter dashess, while Miles Cook won the 400. Brett Pevec didn’t take a back seat to anyone in winning the 800, while Conor Fisher claimed the 1,600 and Connor Fisher won the 3,200. The Green Hornets’ relay teams were winners in each category.

Aiden Hurlburt continued his fine season with a win in the pole vault, while Kyle Moore claimed the long jump and the triple jump. Dylan Darville reigned supreme in the shot put, while teammate Tyriq Smith won the javelin throw.

“As the bar keeps rising, our boys are matching where that bar is placed,” Reinhard said. “I haven’t seen anything quite like this before in our district, and it’s really exciting.”

All season the boys have remained enthusiastic and focused on being their best.

“We have found that no matter the performance level of our athletes they are staying motivated to improve and be a crucial part of this team,” the coach said.

The Hornets improved to 8-0 with the win. Next up for Emmaus is the regular season finale at Parkland on May 2.
