Henry W. Lerch

Henry W. Lerch, 77, of Allen Township, died April 11, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Janice F. (Wieand) Lerch for 58 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clarence C. and Hilda (Souder) Lerch.

He received his associate degree from the Agricultural Technology College at Alfred State University, Alfred, N.Y.

He was a project manager by the former M C Ironworks, Bath, later Michelman-Cancelliere Ironsworks Inc., Bath. He was in the steel business for more than 50 years.

He was a member of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, where he volunteered on church council for several years.

He was a Little League Baseball coach. He was a member and former treasurer of Lost In The 50s Car Club, Macungie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Oehlbeck of Bethlehem; two sons, Robert H. of Whitehall and Thomas M. and his wife Sheryl of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Megan R. Oehlbeck and Leah V. Lerch; a sister, Marion Kuhns of Hellertown; and six nieces and nephews, Susan and Thomas Szczepanski, Bill and Sue Severm and Woody and Debbie Haas.
