Scam

A resident of Horseshoe Trail, Lower Macungie Township, was swindled out of an undisclosed amount of money the resident sent for tickets to an ice hockey game, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 7.

Someone persuaded a resident of Pine Grove Circle, Lower Macungie Township, to provide $400 in eBay gift cards as payment for YouTube TV, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 30.

Recovered vehicle

A vehicle was recovered and two juveniles were taken into custody in the area of Schoeneck Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:56 a.m. Feb. 11 after state police were notified by another police agency of runaways in the area in a stolen vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accidents

A motorist was hurt when his motorcycle hit a bus and a pole before catching fire in a traffic accident on Churchview Road, Upper Milford Township, 3:06 p.m. March 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorcyclist was traveling south on Vera Cruz Road and made a right turn onto Churchview Road. The motorcycle crossed the double yellow center line and struck a bus on the driver’s side. The motorcycle then veered to the right shoulder, hit a utility pole and started on fire, according to authorities. Upper Milford Township fire crews and Mechanic’s Plus Towing also responded. The motorcyclist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital. No one on the bus was hurt.

A Pennsburg motorist escaped injury when his sport utility vehicle crashed into a tree after sliding over ice in Lower Milford Township, 6:15 a.m. Jan. 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was northbound, heading downhill, on Kings Highway South when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed through the oncoming lane and crashed into the tree on the western side of the highway. Detweiler Towing also responded.
