NORTH WHITEHALL: Churches having Easter worship services, egg hunts

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have an egg hunt at 1 p.m. April 1.

Goodie bags and prizes will be available for children through age 12.

The Easter Bunny will be available for photos with the youngsters.

Holy Week worship begins 9 a.m. Palm Sunday, April 2.

Other services include Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., Good Friday at 7 p.m., and Eastern Sunday at 9 a.m.

All services may be experienced in the sanctuary, on the parking lot and virtually.

On Palm Sunday, April 2, at 10:15 a.m., St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, recalls Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem where he would confront religious and political leaders.

Palm branches will be distributed.

The Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. will remember the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples.

The Good Friday worship at 7:30 p.m. will focus on readings from the gospel of Matthew.

On April 9, Easter features a 7 a.m. service in the cemetery which concludes in the sanctuary.

The 10:15 a.m. service will offer special music, a living cross, and Holy Communion.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will offer worship 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday.

Maundy Thursday will include a potluck meal, worship and communion 6 p.m. April 6.

The Good Friday service will offered 7 p.m. April 7 in the sanctuary with communion.

Easter morning begins with a 6:30 a.m. sunrise service in the cemetery and 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services in the church.

Refreshments will be served on the front lawn after each of the Easter services.

Faith Wesleyan Church will present its annual community egg hunt 1-3 p.m. April 1 at the Schnecksville Fire Co.

The afternoon will include games, inflatables, pony rides, snacks and other activities in addition to eggs filled with treats for the hunt.

The event is free.

However, if you would like to support the Schnecksville Fire Co., you may purchase lunch at the concession stand which will be open for this special occasion.

Call 610-799-3431 by April 3 to reserve hoagies for pick up at the Schnecksville Fire Co. 3-4:30 p.m. April 11.

The Copeechan Fish and Game Club invites the public to a night of entertainment with the Castaway Band 5 p.m. April 1.

The group plays Top 40 songs.

Food will be available and there is a cover charge.
