CWSA receives bid amounts for bridge replacement

Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority’s monthly meeting was held at the CWSA building March 16.

General Manager Matt Harleman reported an email was received Feb. 27 from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, notifying CWSA of the bid amounts for the Northampton-Cementon Bridge replacement project. The relocation bid is $138,000, which is approximately 95% reimbursable. The betterment bid is $104,000, which is totally absorbed by CWSA, which will coordinate a sewer run as the project gets underway.

Hahn reported the 1988 CWSA farm tractor, which has been replaced, was offered to both Whitehall and Coplay, neither of which were interested. The tractor will be up for sale, with a starting bid of $3,500.

Hahn brought up items for board information regarding a signatory meeting agenda handout and the authority magazine distribution.

Joseph Marx, community affairs officer, expressed his concerns about the sound system in the CWSA meeting room. The system performed well at the current meeting.
