State Police blotter

Burglary

The front and rear doors of a residence on Tova Circle, Lower Macungie Township, were found open, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 9 and may have happened between 5:15 p.m. Feb. 8 and 1:31 p.m. Feb. 9. Nothing appeared to be removed from the residence, according to authorities.

Robbery

A person allegedly demanded another person’s belongings, including $700 cash, a watch, a chain and a passport, at a location on Mine Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Feb. 19.

Forgery

The owner of JAS Wholesale and Supply, Inc., 4501 Colebrook Ave., Upper Milford Township, learned four unauthorized withdrawals were made from a company bank account by cashing fraudulent checks, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 8.

Counterfeit bills

A person allegedly used counterfeit $100 bills to make purchases at Not Just Bagels and Capriotti’s sandwich shop, both in the 5500 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft from vehicle

A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle at a location on Cold Spring Road, Lower Macungie Township, sometime between 5 p.m. Feb. 7 and 10 a.m. Feb. 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A purse valued at $200, a Pennsylvania driver’s license and a Social Security card were removed from a vehicle parked in the 6800 block of Goor Street, Lower Macungie Township, after the front passenger window was smashed Feb. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The purse was in the vehicle while the owner was walking a dog in a nearby park.

A catalytic converter, valued at $500, was removed from a vehicle parked at Metro Beauty Academy, 4977 Medical Center Circle, Lower Macungie Township, sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A registration plate and plate frame were removed from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence along Belmont Drive, Lower Macungie Township, overnight Feb. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 17.

DUI

A 37-year-old motorist, of Breinigsville, allegedly was driving under the influence while traveling northbound on U.S. Route 222/North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township 3:22 a.m. Feb. 5, when his vehicle went off the left shoulder of the road and struck a wire barrier before crossing back across the road and off the right shoulder of the road, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Yocum Towing and Recovery also responded.

A 26-year-old female, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence near the intersection of Main Street and North Short Street, Emmaus borough, 2:02 a.m. Feb. 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 26-year-old female, of Allentown, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash in the 4600 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 4:05 a.m. Feb. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 35-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after a traffic stop near the intersection of Riverbend Road and Liberty Street, Lower Macungie Township, 3:02 a.m. Feb. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 23-year-old male, of Alburtis, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop near the intersection of Hunt Drive and Scenic View Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 12:29 a.m. Feb. 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 48-year-old male, of Macungie, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after authorities were notified about a reckless motorist near Gehman Road and Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 11:30 p.m. Feb. 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 58-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of Beck Road and Kings Highway North, Upper Milford Township, 1:03 a.m. Feb. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 36-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after the vehicle he was operating struck a steel barrier protecting a gas pump at Turkey Hill Minit Market, Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 9:25 p.m. Feb. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident began at a location on Sweetwood Drive, according to authorities.

Drug possession

A 64-year-old male, of Macungie, was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop near the intersection of Lehigh Street and Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:39 a.m. Feb. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Retail theft

A 55-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly removed merchandise with a total value of $123 from Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:26 p.m. March 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Two people allegedly worked together to remove $2,147.20 in over-the-counter allergy medication and other items from CVS, 958 S. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, at approximately 8:40 p.m. Feb. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Items taken include $1,344.03 worth of Claritin, $766.18 worth of Zyrtec and $36.99 worth of eye drops. The suspects allegedly left the area in a white sport utility vehicle. The incident was reported Feb. 14, according to authorities.

One person allegedly removed $933.13 in over-the-counter medications from CVS, 958 S. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Items taken included $197.73 worth of Pepcid, $267.37 worth of Advil, $158.93 worth of Aleve, $284.63 worth of Zyrtec and $46.47 worth of Motrin.

Harassment

A 26-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly struck another person on the head approximately seven times during an argument at a location in the 1100 block of Driver Place, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. No injuries resulted. The incident was reported Feb. 7.

Recovered vehicle

A vehicle reported stolen from Allentown was recovered after a hit-and-run crash on Highland Court, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver and passengers allegedly fled the accident scene. The vehicle was towed to be processed by Allentown police.

Dog law

A stray dog entered a gated area through a hole in a fence and ate a pure bred Jacob sheep, valued at $500, at a location on South Fifth Street, Upper Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 8. The dog had a collar but did not have a tag.

Possession of alcohol

A student allegedly was intoxicated at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:37 p.m. Feb. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The student also allegedly had alcohol with him at the time.

Drug possession

State police responded to Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:47 a.m. March 9 after a student allegedly had a vape pen containing THC, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Tetrahydrocannabinol also known as THC, is the psychoactive component of cannabis.

Criminal trespass

A 33-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly entered a residence on Buttercup Road, Lower Macungie Township, without permission from the homeowner 12:46 a.m. Feb. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Weapon possession on school property

A Lower Macungie Middle School student allegedly had a pocket knife while at school, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
