Arrests announced in Ulta thefts in Lower Macungie Township

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Fogelsville Patrol Unit arrested a 22-year-old male and 32-year-old female Feb. 16 in a high value theft at Ulta Beauty, 833 N. Krocks Road, in the Hamilton Crossing retail center, Lower Macungie Township.

Authorities provided the following details in a news release dated Feb. 17:

At approximately 5:55 p.m. Feb. 16, troopers were dispatched to Ulta Beauty, for the report of a retail theft of merchandise from the store.

Upon investigation, it was learned the male and female, both from Newark, N.J., entered the store pushing a baby stroller, with no baby in the stroller.

Once inside the store, both individuals were seen allegedly taking multiple fragrance bottles from the shelves and placing them in the baby stroller.

The male and female allegedly left the store on foot.

The release continues:

“Upon further investigation, it was determined the same individuals were currently at the Ulta Beauty in Berks County, where the Spring Township Police Department assisted the Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville Patrol Unit in taking the individuals into custody.”

Both individuals were charged with retail theft, a third degree felony. Bail was set at 10% of $25,000 for each suspect.

The Lower Macungie Township retailer has been the target of various retail thefts including one high profile incident in January 2022 during which three people allegedly worked together to take $3,000 in designer fragrances and another in November 2021 during which five suspects allegedly teamed up to remove $20,000 in merchandise, including fragrances and cosmetics, in about 40 seconds.
