Drug possession

A 55-year-old female, of Macungie, allegedly had controlled substances and related paraphernalia when police responded to the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, for a disturbance 8:50 p.m. Nov. 18, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 20-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly having suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia after he left the scene of a hit-and-run crash along Steinsburg Road, Lower Milford Township, 1:08 a.m. Oct. 20, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal mischief

Multiple windows were damaged and graffiti was found at a residence along Steinsburg Road, Lower Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 12, 2022.

Someone drove through the backyard of a residence along Kings Highway South, Upper Milford Township, damaging the lawn, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 20, 2022.

A mailbox was damaged at a residence in the 7500 block of Victoria Lane, Lower Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 17, 2022.

A 22-year-old male allegedly threw a smartphone belonging to another person, destroying the phone, at a location on Violet Circle, Lower Macungie Township, 8:20 p.m. Dec. 27, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelvsille.

Someone allegedly damaged the rear plastic window of a vehicle’s soft top at a location on Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, overnight Dec. 14, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 15, 2022.

Retail theft

Someone allegedly removed five bags of Halloween candy, with a total value of $24.15, from a retailer in the 7100 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 29, 2022.

Someone allegedly removed three items, with a total value of $308.99, from Dick’s Sporting Goods, 707 N. Krocks Road, Suite 101, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 15, 2022.

Theft

Someone acquired the bank account information of a resident of Mertztown Road, Lower Macungie Township and removed $2,495, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 5, 2022.

A resident of Aronimink Place, Lower Macungie Township, was contacted by Capital One after someone attempted to open a credit card in her name, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The application process was denied. An iPhone 11 smartphone mailed to the resident soon after the credit card application incident was returned. The incident was reported Nov. 12, 2022.

Tools were removed from a construction site along Schantz Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 15, 2022.

A garbage can was stolen from a residence in the 1800 block of Hamilton Drive, Lower Milford Township, between 9 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 16, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Items were determined to be missing from a camper at a location on Chestnut Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The camper was sitting at the location for approximately eight months and the incident was reported Nov. 6, 2022.

Counterfeit money

A male and female used $940 in counterfeit $20 bills to purchase various items at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 707 N. Krocks Road, Suite 101, Lower Macungie Township, Oct. 26, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident began with the male and female returning an item before purchasing other items including a golf club valued at $349.99, J Buds Air headphones valued at $49.99, three pieces of women’s Nike clothing with a total value of $265, a men’s The North Face hooded sweatshirt valued at $59 and three pieces of men’s Nike clothing with a total value of $170.

Forgery

An unknown person cashed multiple checks in the name of a resident of Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 2, 2022.

Theft of vehicle

A cargo trailer was removed from a location along Buckeye Road, Upper Milford Township, 4:50 a.m. Dec. 20, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Someone drove a silver SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or Expedition, onto the property, attached the trailer to the SUV and fled along Buckeye Road, according to authorities. The cargo trailer was described as a black 2019 Pace American.

A 21-year-old male, of Allentown, was taken into custody after he allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle at a crash scene at the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 4:46 p.m. Dec. 1, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Authorities outlined the following in a news release: Investigators learned the male was involved in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection. He then allegedly “engaged in a physical altercation” at the scene and tried to take another vehicle involved in the accident. Court documents available online also include charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, driving under the influence and careless driving.

Found property

Several spent shell casings were found in a parking stall in front of Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:41 a.m. Dec. 11, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The casings were collected and secured at the state police station, Schantz Road.

A black wallet was found in the 700 block of North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:04 p.m. Dec. 5, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The wallet contained a dime and two pieces of paper. The wallet was placed into evidence at the state police station, Schantz Road.

A shipment of 200 Fentanyl doses was accidentally sent to a business along Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 29, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The doses are to be returned to the pharmaceutical company, according to authorities.

Identity theft

A resident of Wisdom Place, Lower Macungie Township, learned an unknown person attempted to open two loans in his name, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 28, 2022.

DUI

A 22-year-old motorist, of Orefield, allegedly was driving under the influence when her vehicle struck a pickup truck in a two-vehicle accident on South Cedar Crest Boulevard near Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:24 p.m. Dec. 15, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The Orefield motorist was southbound and rear-ended the truck, which was stopped in traffic. Both drivers were slightly hurt. Macungie Ambulance crews also responded.

Accident

A Mertztown motorist escaped injury when his pickup truck overturned in a one-vehicle accident on Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:53 a.m. Jan. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle, a 2016 Ford 150 XLT, was traveling north on Spring Creek Road, near Mertztown Road, when the truck lost traction on a curve. The vehicle slid off the road and hit an embankment before toppling onto its right side. Macungie Ambulance and Stews Tire Center also responded.

Theft from vehicle

A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle while the vehicle was at a location on Shuler Street, Lower Macungie Township, sometime between Dec. 19, 2022 and Jan. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A car window was broken and a $25 Visa gift card was removed from a vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Jan. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Drug possession

A 23-year-old male and two 19-year-old females, all of Allentown, allegedly had drug paraphernalia and controlled substances at a traffic stop near the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:57 p.m. Dec. 26, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft

A resident of Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned purchases totaling $2,122.53 were made on her bank card, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An investigation by state police found a relative of the resident was involved and the relative allegedly admitted to making the purchases. The incident was reported Jan. 17.

A check was taken from a mailbox and altered to remove approximately $5,550 from the bank account of a resident of Judy Lane, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 16, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville

A Macungie shopper noticed her smartphone, a Google Pixel 6 Pro, was missing while she was at Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A wallet was removed from a purse while a shopper was at Costco, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:13 p.m. Jan. 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A suspect was seen on surveillance footage allegedly removing a wallet from a shopper’s cart at Giant food stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, noon Jan. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall and wearing a dark jacket, a hooded sweatshirt, a knit hat and a face mask. The person was seen on surveillance following the wallet’s owner and reaching into her cart for the wallet while she was distracted. The wallet was recovered in the store parking lot and cash was missing, according to authorities.

Two fraudulent checks were used to steal $40,010 from two residents of Light Horse Harry Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 10, 2022.

Simple trespass

A juvenile male allegedly entered a residence on Spring Ridge Drive West, Lower Macungie Township, 12:15 a.m. Nov. 26, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The juvenile allegedly was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and entered the residence thinking it was the residence of a friend. State police were called to the area because the juvenile was reported as missing.

Terroristic threats

An employee of a business on Alburtis Road, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly threatened two people between Sept. 1 and Dec. 16, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal mischief

A 43-year-old male, of Allentown, was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly entered a location on Liberty Lane, Lower Macungie Township and destroyed a 40-inch television, valued at $200, a dresser and mirror unit, valued at $389, a shoe rack, valued at $25 and $22 worth of drywall 8:03 p.m. Jan. 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal trespass

A group of several juveniles was seen allegedly trespassing at a vacant property along Greystone Circle, Lower Macungie Township, 9:50 p.m. Jan. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Scam

Someone persuaded a resident of the 3800 block of Gehman Road, Lower Macungie Township, to provide that person with $6,000 worth of Bitcoin digital currency, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 20.

A resident of Wedge Lane, Lower Macungie Township, was scammed out of $115,000 after a caller who allegedly claimed to be a bank representative told the resident her bank account had been hacked and to transfer money to a different account to attempt to catch the hacker. The resident transferred the $115,000 before realizing she was being scammed. The incident was reported Dec. 11, 2022.

Found property

A toy pellet gun was found in a wooded area near the Lower Macungie Township building, 3450 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:04 p.m. Jan. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The pellet gun is held at the state police station, Schantz Road.

DUI

A motorist was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Riverbend Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:27 a.m. Jan. 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

False alarm

State troopers responded to a burglar alarm in the 6400 block of Village Lane, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 24, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The alarm was the fourth consecutive false alarm in 12 months and the business was cited.
