Falcons lose two games

It was another difficult week for the Salisbury Falcon boys basketball team.

After Brady Leiner led the team with eight points in a 59-28 loss to Bangor (8-6, 7-3), he scored 17 to again lead the team but the Falcons fell to Wilson 48-45 at home on Friday night.

Salisbury (3-11 overall, 3-7 Colonial) held a 25-18 lead at halftime, but the Warriors (8-6, 7-5) used a pair of 15-point quarters to rally from behind and beat Salisbury. Shamel Gibson scored 26 to lead Wilson, with 20 of those points coming in the second half. One difference was that Wilson got to the free-throw line 16 times in the game, hitting nine of their shots while Salisbury made just two trips to the line in the game.

In the loss at Bangor, Steven Lozada was right behind Leiner in scoring with seven points, but the Slater offense was able to overpower the defense of Salisbury.

The Falcons have games against Saucon Valley (11-3, 8-2), Palisades (2-12, 1-10) and Northern Lehigh (1-14, 1-9) over the next week.
