Mary R. Jandrasits

Mary “Mitzi” R. Jandrasits, 95, of Coplay, died Jan. 9, 2023. She was the wife of the late John. J. Jandrasits.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Heindl) Sommer.

She was a garment worker of various mills most of her life until she retired. She was a daycare aide at Kinder Y Care, Northampton.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall, and of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society.

She was a trustee and a 50-year member of the Catholic War Veterans auxiliary. She was a member of the Friendly Fifties and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Young at Heart group. She was a cook, pierogi maker and waitress for the former St. Nicholas Ukrainian Home Association, Northampton.

She is survived by a son, Joseph C., with whom she resided; a daughter, Jane M. Gartner and husband Bruce of Wescosville; a granddaughter, Alison Lombardi and husband Salvatore III of Freehold, N.J.; two great-grandsons, Salvatore IV and Nicholas; a sister, Margaret Bannon; three brothers, Anthony, Edward and wife Peggy and Dennis and wife Cheryl; nieces; nephews; and extended family.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Gartner; and three brothers, John, Joseph and Alfred.
