McGaughey new Meals on Wheels CEO

Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley has named Erik McGaughey as CEO of the nonprofit. MoW provides homebound seniors and adults with disabilities daily medically-tailored meal delivery, grocery shopping, pet food supply/delivery, emergency meals and more.

McGaughey was an American Cancer Society regional development director for many years. He developed systematic approaches to fundraising and stewardship, managed the largest regional event/relationship portfolio, worked with volunteers to deliver organizational goals and exceeded national standards for membership recruitment expectations.

A Lehigh Valley resident since 1984, he is a graduate of Moravian University where he earned a BBA in management/marketing and a BA in English.

Davila, Woolever inducted into Tri-Alpha

Cara Davila and April Woolever, both of Bethlehem, were inducted recently in to the Cedar Crest College Zeta Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) national honor society for first-generation college students. Dr. Jill Purdy, professor and Education Department chair, and Lynnsae Powers, director of persistence support resources, were inducted with the students.

The mission of the honor society is to encourage and reward academic excellence among first-generation college students pursuing bachelor’s degrees at accredited institutions of higher learning. Tri-Alpha chapters provide members opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and campus and community service.
