SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom Elizabeth Kamp, my dad Joel Kamp, my sister Jordan Kamp, my brother Jacob Kamp, two dogs Milo and Indy and a cat named Lola.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. Science because there are so many cool things to discover, but to be more specific anatomy.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I was Lehigh Valley Live honorable mention for sophomore and junior year for soccer and I was defensive MVP junior year for basketball and soccer.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I participate in soccer and basketball. I am also in student government, No Place for Hate and Aevidum.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school I will be attending Shenandoah University to major in nursing.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge was overcoming personal sabotage. Having older siblings I am always comparing myself to them and believing I could never be as good as them.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered as a strong leader. I am captain of the soccer and basketball team and I want my teammates to think of me as someone they can depend on.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my grandparents. My grandpa was in the military so I have always seen him as a strong and courageous man who has a brave soul. My grandma owned a couple businesses when she was in her 20s. She always taught me to be independent and to have determination.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice is to be yourself, you only live once, so don’t worry about what other people think of you, just focus on your personal goals in life and succeed.
