EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My dad is John, my mom is Kristin, I have a brother named Ryan and a sister named Meredith. I had two dogs named Coby and Bella and two cats named Henri and Sadie.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. French because I was able to participate in a school trip to France last summer and I am very interested in the language and culture.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received honor roll and the French National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I was in Key Club 9-11th grade. This year I am an officer in the French Club and since middle school I have volunteered at the Sanctuary for Animals at Haafsville. I enjoy volunteering at the animal sanctuary every Friday. Extracurricular activities, especially clubs, have helped build a sense of community.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Having good time management skills. It took a while to understand how to use my time efficiently and the times where I didn’t made everything more difficult.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. To attend college at either University of Pittsburgh or University of Tennessee. I am unsure what I want to study.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My sister because she found a time and a way to balance academics, gymnastics and community service in high school and college.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. For being kind and giving back to my community.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Get involved. You can meet new people and find new passions. It’s always worth it.
