Peanut is an adorable tiny Pittie. Peanut is said to be 13 years old, but everyone who has met her and wanted a senior says she is too active. She acts more like a 7- or 8-year-old dog. The shelter's vet thought she was around that age, but the owner who fell ill and could no longer care for her said Peanut was 13-years-old when she was surrendered. At one point, she was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease and had surgery and also used a wheelchair. Now she loves walks and gets around very well. Her face is a little lopsided, similar to a stroke, which could have happened during surgery.
Harper likes going on walks and is great on a leash. She also likes going on car rides, lounging around on the couch, running around in the yard, and being at a home, too. Harper needs a family that has patience and understanding of her “love” with these things. So she needs to be the only dog in the home and no young kids they kind of make her me nervous. We did a “cat test” with her recently and she was nervous and unsure of the cat. She will need slow introductions with a cat in a home and it would be best if any food typically left on the floor for a cat would need to be placed up higher and away from Harper due to her love of food. It would also be a good idea for a cat to be kept away from her when she eats. Harper is a lab/coonhound mix approximately 2 years old.
