Lawrence H. Schaffer

Lawrence H. “Larry” Schaffer, 77, of Emmaus, died Nov. 18, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Burrows) Schaffer. They were married for 40 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Herbert Monroe Schaffer and Lucille Claire (Shive) Phillip.

He was a graduate of William Allen High School, Class of 1962 and proudly served in the United States Navy.

He was the owner and operator of Tri-Tech Business Machines in Bethlehem for many years.

He loved camping with his wife and looked forward to their yearly trips to Florida where they met many dear friends. He was a devoted grandfather who was very proud of his grandchildren. On Sundays he enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He is best described by everyone who knew him as a good man.

He was a member of the Mercantile Club, Catholic War Vets, American Legion, Emmaus Fire Co. #1, Citizens’ Fire Co. #2 and the Macungie VFW.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Natalie Yaniger and Michelle Matrishin; grandchildren, Leah, Cole, Sophia, Quinn, Ava, Emma, Liam, Morgan, Colby and Parker; brother, Gerald. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ileana Estela (Balga) Schaffer and daughter Laurie Bourdeau.

You are invited to visit with family and friends 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 28 followed by a memorial service 11 a.m. in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.
