MORAVIAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY annual meeting, lecture and reception, 2:30 p.m. Oct. 30. “John Clemm, David Tannenberg, and the Moravians’ Role in Establishing Keyboard Manufacture in America” with Laurence Libin, presenter, on early Moravian contributions to the American piano manufacturing industry, drawing upon keyboard instruments uniquely preserved by the Moravian Historical Society.

Libin is emeritus curator of musical instruments at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; honorary curator of Steinway & Sons; and a past president of the Organ Historical Society. He lectures and publishes internationally on organology and historical preservation, and has investigated Moravian instrument making for more than 40 years.
