Whitehall Township Public Library: Lehigh Valley Haunts event set for Oct. 27 at Whitehall library

A Lehigh Valley Haunts event is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27.

Join local dark side storyteller Ellen Flynn as she takes us through spooky tales about local haunts.

Registration is requested.

Hallow-Read is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Oct. 29.

Our younger patrons can come in for food, games and crafts run by our Teen Advisory Board.

Costumes are encouraged!

The library is selling presale tickets for the fall basket raffle at a discounted rate.

The basket raffle will run Nov. 4-11.

There will also be 50/50 tickets available.

November is National Novel Writing Month.

The library will host gatherings 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Anyone at any stage of the writing process is welcome to come join.

There will be word sprints, prompts and other games, with plenty of time to write.

There will be a presentation titled Books on Wheels: A History of Traveling Books in America 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17.

Join us for a history of bookmobiles presented by the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles.

Allentown Health Bureau is planning to hold a fall prevention presentation 6 p.m. Nov. 30 as well as an opioid presentation 6 p.m. Dec. 7.

The fall prevention presentation will discuss how to prevent falls, precautions to take and safe habits.

The opioid presentation will discuss how to prevent overdoses, how to store opioids and to discard when no longer in use. This presentation will also discuss other methods of pain management and signs to look out for when taking opioids.

Registration is requested.

The current library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
