Attempted homicide

Police arrested Christopher Rodriguez of Montgomery County Oct. 7 after he allegedly shot a man in Bethlehem.

Around 5:15 a.m. officers responded to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, where a man had come in with a gunshot injury. The victim required surgery.

During the investigation, police were told of a conversation between Rodriguez and Montgomery County authorities in which he threatened to harm his significant other and her family, and later heard a recorded phone call in which he admitted to shooting a friend in Bethlehem around the time of the incident. Rodriguez was located and taken into custody, at which time he still had a pistol with him.

The location of the shooting was found to be the area of Linden and East Raspberry streets.

Rodriguez was committed to Montgomery County Prison on charges filed in an unrelated case.

Rodriguez is charged with: attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and possessing instruments of crime.
