Annual Halloween parade set for Oct. 19

The Catasauqua/North Catasauqua Halloween parade will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 19.

This year’s parade involves more than 40 groups and 600 participants, including local leaders, youth groups, businesses and local emergency response units.

The major sponsors of this year’s parade are Biery’s Port Bodyworks, Grove Street Pub & Grill, Daku’s Auto Body Shop Inc. and Witt’s Tree Service.

The parade route will be the same as last year. It will start at 14th and Race streets, travel west along Race Street, turn right onto Front Street, turn right onto Arch Street and end at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

Participants will be performing in front of the judge’s table, which will be located by the North Catasauqua park.

Staging will begin 5:30 p.m. on the following streets, which will be closed to thru-traffic: 14th, Bridge, Fairview and Peach streets.

Street closings will be as follows - all side roads along the route by 6:30 p.m.; Race, Front, Second and Arch streets by 6:55 p.m.; Sixth Street to Grove Street by 7 p.m.; and Grove Street (from Howertown Road to Sixth Street) by 7 p.m.

The rain date is scheduled for Oct. 26.
