Rev. Joseph D. Hulko

The Rev. Joseph D. Hulko, 82, died Sept. 10, 2022. A native of Emmaus, he was the son of the late Joseph and Teresa (Miletics) Hulko.

He attended St. Ann School, Emmaus and graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School. He studied for the priesthood at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook.

He was ordained May 20, 1967, by The Most Rev. Joseph M. McShea, at the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

His first assignment was professor, Reading Central Catholic High School, Reading; followed by principal, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary High School, Pottsville; Parochial Vicar, Saint John the Baptist Parish, Allentown; pastor, Saint Michael Parish, Lansford; Parochial Vicar, Saint Margaret Parish, Reading, Parochial Vicar, Saint John the Baptist Parish, Shillington; Parochial Vicar, Saint Bernard Parish, Easton; Parochial Vicar, Saint Joseph Parish, Limeport; Parochial Vicar, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Bethlehem; Parochial Vicar, Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Easton and Parochial Vicar, Notre Dame of Bethlehem Parish. He retired Sept. 1, 2003.

He is survived by a brother, John “Jack” and his wife, Diane; a sister, Patricia and her husband, Bruce Householder; a brother-in-law, Evan Wescoe; five nephews and a niece; many great-nephews and great-nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, MaryAnn Wescoe.
