Bath Borough: Emmanuel’s plans fall flea market

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, is planning a fall flea market event 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 8. Proceeds will benefit the painting of the church windows.

The event is open to the community. There will be crafts, yard sale items, antiques, baked goods and food.

Vendors are welcome.

Volunteers are needed, so sign up if you are able to help. Call the church office at 610-837-1741 for more.

Bath firefighters and the Bath Fire Company Social Hall are planning a basket social event for 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 8 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 9, with the drawing set for 3:30 p.m., at the social hall, 135 S. Walnut St.

There will be a flat-screen television, cash prize, lottery scratch-off, 50/40 and more.

All are invited to an old-fashioned game night 7-10 p.m. Oct. 8 at Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church. Bring your favorite board or card game and an optional snack to share to the old fellowship hall for an evening of fun.

Sue Walker and Sally Leabold have volunteered to be the game leaders.

Chapman Quarries United Methodist Church, 1433 Main St., will be holding a fall festival 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 8.

There will be many vendors, crafters, a raffle table, baked goods for sale, kids pumpkin painting, food and beverages.

Boy Scout Troop 50 AYCE will be holding a spaghetti dinner 5-8 p.m. Oct. 8 at Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, Moorestown.

Emmanuel’s Church continues to have Denise from Creative Action Yoga holding a class in the fellowship hall 5:30 p.m. Monday evenings for a minimal cost. You pay as you go.

Bring a yoga mat or towel, and wear comfortable clothes. All are welcome.

Girl Scout Troop 8189 meets at Emmanuel’s 6-7:30 p.m. every other Wednesday.

This year, the troop will have groups for Daisies in kindergarten and first grade, Brownies in second and third grades and Juniors in fourth and fifth grades.

They are welcoming new members.

For the month of October, Emmanuel’s will be collecting boxed macaroni and cheese, toilet paper and paper towels for Bath Area Food Bank. The food bank is always in need of ramen noodles, and monetary gifts stretch further than any amount of food.

Note: The food bank distributes food the second Tuesday of each month, starting around 9:30 a.m. The next distribution is Oct. 11 in the lower level of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St., Bath.
