Whitehall Township Public Library: Banned Book Week craft event planned

Celebrate your freedom to read with a Banned Book Week craft.

Teens and adults can create a do-it-yourself magnet and coaster with their favorite banned book pages 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22.

Registration is required.

The library’s book sale will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24, with a bag sale noon-3 p.m. Sept. 24.

The library is currently accepting lightly used books and media for the sale.

Register now for fall storytimes.

Preschool storytime will begin the week of Sept. 27 and takes place 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Toddler storytime is 11 a.m. Thursdays, beginning Oct. 6.

The Teen Advisory Board meets the second Saturday of each month.

Teens wishing to join and volunteer at the library should stop by the next meeting, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8.

Teens and adults are invited to paint a canvas bag with Lehigh Valley Decorative Painters, set for 9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Oct. 1. There is a cost, which covers supplies.

Registration is required.

The library is now a drop-off location for Plant a Row Lehigh Valley. This grassroots organization helps supply fresh fruits and vegetables to the hungry in the Lehigh Valley.

You may drop off donations in the marked cooler inside the library 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays.

Separate items by type. All donations are given to Whitehall Food Pantry.

Help the library by participating in Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends program. Donate $5 to the library, and you will receive a shopping pass to be used Oct. 19.

Passes may be obtained at the library.

The library is currently accepting donations of new and collectible items for our fall basket raffle. The raffle will run Nov. 4-11.

The current library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
