William J. Polaha

William J. Polaha, 90, of Coplay, died July 8, 2022, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home under hospice care. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Casper) Polaha of Coplay for 68 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Brezina) Polaha.

He was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Allentown.

He was in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a serviceman at UGI for more than 45 years before his retirement.

He was a member and usher at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was the groundskeeper for Sammy Balliet Stadium. He was a member of the American Legion and a baseball coach for the Northampton Legion. He bowled in leagues at the local American Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, William R. and wife Donna of Coplay and Sharon and her husband James Quarantello of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Jessica Lynn and Gabriella.

He was predeceased by three siblings, Dorothy, Joseph and Mary
