Police arrested Wayne T. Powell Jr., 23, of Bethlehem, following an altercation in which he allegedly threatened a store clerk with a pistol.
According to police, Powell argued with the East Broad Street Subway employee around 7 p.m. July 7. He became irate over a food order and left, returning with a handgun and threatening the employee.
Officers located the suspect in the 500 block of High Street, where he was taken into custody without incident and identified. A search of the suspect’s residence revealed a loaded handgun in the kitchen.
Powell is charged with carrying a firearm without a license. simple assault, threats, reckless endangerment, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
