Hornets seek first LVL win

The Emmaus Lehigh Valley Legion baseball team is still seeking its first win of the 2022 season.

The Hornets played five games last week and fell to 0-10 on the season.

Saturday Emmaus lost to rival Lower Macungie 11-0 in five innings during LVL Day at Limeport Stadium.

Lower Mac pitchers Tyler Geist and Anthony McWhinney held the Hornets to just two hits in the game. Kadden Zacharda and Nathan Sauter had Emmaus hits in the game.

Emmaus lost to the Carbon Monarchs last Thursday. Five Emmaus players had hits in the game, including David Rompilla, Karson Krasley, Dennis Holland, Haven Tarbox and Seth Cherhit.

The Hornets dropped both ends of a doubleheader to unbeaten South Parkland last Tuesday, June 14, falling by scores of 12-0 and 15-1.

Three Trojan pitchers limited Emmaus to two hits in the second game. Sauter had both Hornet hits.

South Parkland’s Anthony Carpenter allowed just one hit over five innings in the Trojans’ 12-0 win. The hit came from the bat of Holland.

Defending league champ Salisbury used a seven-run third inning to down Emmaus 10-0 in five innings last week. Zacharda had the Hornets’ only hit off Falcon pitcher Owen Fogel.
