Buffaloes improve to 8-3

North Parkland improved to 8-3 in Lehigh Valley Legion play with wins in six of its last seven games. The only setback in that span came to unbeaten South Parkland.

The Buffaloes were in second place through Tuesday’s games. They trail the first-place Trojans and hold a slim lead over third-place Lower Macungie (7-3-1) with Whitehall-Coplay (7-3) not far behind in fourth place.

North Parkland beat Southern Lehigh twice on Tuesday by scores of 9-8 and 7-0.

Jake Barto went 3-for-3 for the Buffaloes in the 9-8 win. He drove in two runs and scored twice in the win, while Aaron Atiyeh was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

The Buffaloes beat Salisbury 5-3 Monday. Atiyeh went 2-for-3 in the win while scoring once and driving in a run. Sean Rivera (4 innings pitches, 2 hits, 1 earned run, 4 strike outs) and Steven Sepko (3 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 5 K) combined to hold the Falcons to just three hits.

North Parkland fell to the rival Trojans, 12-5, Saturday in the first game of five LVL games at Limeport Stadium. The game, which started at 9 a.m., saw 11 errors with the Buffs committing seven of them.

Two North Parkland pitchers held Lower Macungie scoreless in a 10-0 win in six innings last Friday. Chase Whittaker (5 IP, 2 H, 4 K) and Allan Burgos (1 IP, 1 H) combined for the shut out.

Sean Rivera went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while teammate Jeremy Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Buffaloes beat the Carbon Monarchs 12-3 last Wednesday, June 15. Rivera was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Superka got the win, pitching five innings and allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out seven.

The Buffs edged Whitehall-Coplay 3-1 last Tuesday, June 14. Rivera pitched six innings and allowed just one hit and no earned runs while striking out a dozen Zephyr batters. Six North Parkland players had one hit each in the win.

North Parkland has six games remaining in LVL play. After three games this week the Buffs host winless Emmaus next Monday (June 27) and then meet South Parkland Tuesday, June 28 at Parkland High School. They cap the regular season June 30 with a home game against Northern Valley at Orefield Middle School.
