Salisbury police arrest Allentown man twice in three days

An Allentown man was arrested twice in three days after allegedly fighting with police and soon thereafter found to allegedly be driving under the influence.

According to a news release from police Joey Mercado, 47, was charged May 23 with allegedly violating a protection from abuse order and driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a traffic stop in the area of Buckingham Drive and Andrea Drive around 11 p.m.

According to police, the May 23 arrest was the second in three days of Mercado by the department “originating from a domestic violence (incident) and aggravated assault on a police officer incident” May 21.
