North Catasauqua: Recreation committee plans summer programs, events

North Catasauqua Recreation Committee has planned an active and fun summertime program.

Events are free to the public, except as noted. A monetary donation to the nonprofit group, which is dedicated to keeping the local park well maintained, is always welcomed.

All events are held at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

For information, call borough hall at 610-264-1504 or visit northcatasauqua.org.

The summer Crafts and Laughs recreation program for children will begin June 20.

There are a couple of changes happening to the park program this year. The program for this summer will be a full six weeks through the end of July.

The group will be allowing volunteers to help out with the program again. Volunteers should have completed seventh grade and must be hardworking individuals. Volunteers will have many responsibilities, such as being asked to help set up activities and supervise/assist participants in craft creation.

The number of participants will be limited to 50. This will be a first-come, first-served registration.

Sign-up forms are on the Crafts and Laughs at North Catty Park Facebook page.

In other park news, band concerts include 99 Stringz, 7 p.m. June 22; Amish Outlaws, 7 p.m., July 10; The Clap, 7 p.m., Aug. 5; and Steel Creek, 7 p.m., Aug. 24. The Steel Creek show has a rain date of 7 p.m. Aug. 25.

Family Night will be held Aug. 17.

The recreation committee will be accepting donations for the food bank at family night and summer concert events.
