Roughies Report: Kaylee Monahan performs in NYC

Congratulations to Catasauqua High School student Kaylee Monahan, who was selected to perform and sing in the 2022 My Face Celebrates Gala in New York City! The event took place May 2 at Guastavino’s, located on East 59th Street.

Kaylee is a CHS sophomore and a member of the chorus and drama club.

My Face is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the faces and transforming the lives of children and adults with facial differences.

CHS received six Freddy nominations for its production of “Chicago: High School Edition.”

Catasauqua Area School District will be closed May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will also be closed for this federal holiday.

It’s almost time to celebrate! Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will hold its senior recognition night for the Class of 2022 May 31 at PPL Center, 701 Hamilton St., Allentown.

Doors open 5:30 p.m., and the ceremony will begin 6:30 p.m.

All LCTI seniors and their family members and friends are invited. Seniors do not need tickets, but family members and friends do. LCTI teachers will be distributing tickets seniors.

This will be LCTI’s first in-person senior recognition night since 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies were virtual.

Are you interested in a public safety career? If so, the three-day summer program being offered in August by Lehigh Valley Health Network might be for you. The program costs $130 and is best suited for teenagers who want to learn more about and interact with individuals from all fields of public safety, such as fire, police, EMS, K-9 unit, physicians and more.
