Allen/East Allen townships: Kreidersville Covered Bridge Festival scheduled for June 4, 5

The Kreidersville Covered Bridge Festival is scheduled to be held June 4 and 5 at 100 Covered Bridge Road, Allen Township. Highlights of the day include hayrides, a pig roast, craft beer tasting, Lehigh Valley Zoo animal demonstrations, historical speech by Larry Oberly, Civil War re-enactment, a basket raffle and live entertainment.

Admission and parking are free.

The June 4 music lineup features Big Valley Bluegrass playing noon-3 p.m. and Toga Party Band performing 4-7 p.m.

James Supra performs noon-3 p.m., followed by The Large Flowerheads 4-7 p.m. June 5.

A cornhole tournament will be held 2 p.m. June 4.

The seventh annual Northampton Area School District Student Council car show will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 30 at Bicentennial Park West, 5351 Park West Lane, East Allen Township.

The rain date is planned for July 31.

The event will feature cars, truck, motorcycles and antique tractors.

Registration will be held 9 a.m.-noon. Dash plaques will be given to the first preregistered vehicles. Awards - 30 in all - will be presented 4 p.m.

The event will also include door prizes, a tricky tray, food, a deejay and a craft and flea market.

All proceeds benefit NASD Student Council.

East Allen Township will hold its food truck and farmers market event 3:30-6:30 p.m. Fridays at Bicentennial Park West, just off Colony Drive.

There is a fee to participate, and proof of insurance is required.

The Sons of Veteran group is looking for volunteers, men or women, for only one-and-a-half days per year. Guns and uniforms are provided.
