District News: Students invited to wear green

Gockley Elementary School students are encouraged to wear green for Earth Day, April 22.

The 2022 U.S. Senior Open will be at Saucon Valley Country Club, Bethlehem, June 23-26.

By purchasing tickets through axs.com/events/405227/2022-u-s-senior-open-tickets/promopage/30308?skin=usga and entering code USSOF4, the U.S. Golf Association will donate $5 to Zephyr Pride Foundation for each ticket purchased. This promotion has been extended through April 30.

Whitehall-Coplay School District’s family night, to highlight the cultural diversity of staff, students and families, is set for May 4.

Gockley Elementary will hold its open house 6-8:30 p.m. May 5.

Organized by PTO PLUS, the elementary schools will be raising money to buy books for Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. Books will be purchased during the upcoming Scholastic book fair May 5.

Scholastic will match monetary donations and donate books to children in need through organizations such as National Centers for Families Learning.

The Whitehall High School Class of 1972 is planning its 50th reunion June 4-6. Festivities begin 2 p.m. June 4 with a guided tour of the school and campus.

Afterward, there will be a happy hour 5-6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner and socializing, at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

There will be a brunch 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 5 at Green Pond Country Club, 3604 Farmersville Road, Bethlehem.

Members are encouraged to attend the WHS commencement June 6 at PPL Center, 701 Hamilton St., Allentown.
