Freedom enters a new era with John Bisco III coming into his first season as head coach of the program.
After Nick D’Amico led the baseball program for the past 14 years, Bisco hopes to improve a team that went 7-12 a year ago with the aspirations of reaching the postseason.
In order to achieve that, Bisco understands it starts with the fundamentals.
“We have to be fundamentally sound, throw strikes, and play good defense,” Bisco said. “Even though we have some players with inexperience on the varsity level we have great leadership and hardworking kids.”
Top returners for the Pates this year include: Andres Suarez (Sr. C)., Griffin Coyne (Sr. P/OF), Michael Moniz (Sr. OF/P), Ryan Hoffman (Jr. 1B, P) and Reed Coon (Sr. 3B/P).
Newcomers are Kevin Kullman (Jr. SS/P), Jarred Peluso (So. OF/P), Mason Coon (Sr. OF), Bryant Ruhf (Sr. OF), Ryan Endrick (Sr. 2B).
Bisco believes Liberty and Easton will be two of the top teams in the EPC East Division with Emmaus and Parkland also rounding out as league title contenders.
“Our goals are to make the league playoffs and district postseason,” he said.
