Hawks look for an encore

After winning a district championship last season, what will be in store for Bethlehem Catholic this year?

The Golden Hawks enjoyed a memorable season in head coach Matt Corsi’s inaugural campaign, but now it’s time for an encore for a team that lost a majority of it’s starters to graduation.

“We are a very young team,” said Corsi. “We are going to rely on our starting pitching to get us through the first half of the season as our young players get experience. We hope to build off last year’s success.”

Returning for the Hawks are: Chaise Albus (SR, OF/P), Eric Wert (JR, OF), Anthony Martinez (SO, C), Beckham McNally (JR, P), Evan Druckenmiller (SR, OF), Adam Boyer (Jr, P), Peter Martinez (SR, 2B/OF), Matt O’Connor (SR, OF), Brett Fyrer (SR, C), Matt Yousella (SR, 1B/3B/OF/P) and Jeremy Fyrer (SO, 2B/3B/OF).

Newcomers for Corsi include: Pete Hrousis (Jr, 1B/P), Brayden Rader (SO, MI), Caden Deegan (FR, 1B/P), Bryce Blawn (FR, MI/P), Michael Martinez (3B), Evan Heffelfinger (SR, C), Ben Kaczor (JR, 1B/OF/P), Jamel Clements (JR, OF/3B), Collin Peacock (FR, OF), Zack McCoy (FR, MI), Ethan Johnson (SO, P) and Logan Kim (SR, P).

“Our goals are to make districts and the league playoffs,” said Corsi. “We just need to grow and get better everyday.”
