Copeechan Fish and Game reports a successful year

BY SUSAN RUMBLE

Special to The Press

Copeechan Fish and Game Club, 4460 Washington St., Schnecksville, reports 2021 was a successful year for the organization.

The year was a great improvement over 2020 when the club could operate at only 50 percent capacity and had very few social events in the hall.

In 2021, the club could move to full capacity and had bookings every Saturday for wedding receptions or other events.

Members started to return on Friday nights for food and good company.

With the hard work of volunteers, the club was able to raise enough funds to pay the bills and the taxes.

This year, Copeechan looks forward to the annual fishing events, live bands and relaxing time on the new patio overlooking the pond.

To learn more about the club and its activities, call 610-735-2074.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, is collecting cans of soup to “Help Tackle Hunger.”

When people bring in soup can donations, they can vote for either the National Football Conference or the American Football Conference.

The winner will be families in the community who need help.

On Feb. 13, Souper Bowl Sunday, big soup kettles will be circulated during the 9 a.m. service to collect coins or any other amount people want to give.

Proceeds and soup cans will be used to support the church’s Little Food Pantry, the Northern Lehigh Food Bank and Parkland CARES Food Pantry.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will celebrate Souper Bowl Sunday with a collection of canned soup for the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

After the 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 worship service, the Welcoming Committee will host the annual tailgate party in honor of those who have joined the church in the past two years.

All are invited to dine with the group or choose the “to go” option to take home the food.
