The Upper Lehigh Lions Club is inviting new members to join the organization which is dedicated to the betterment of the local community and to helping those in need.

The club serves North Whitehall Township and surrounding communities, the Pennsylvania Lions District 14-K, comprised of Lehigh and Northampton counties, and the many worldwide services of Lions International.

For more information, call Lion Ken Zimmerman at 610-799-4828.

The Lions had a great profit from food trailer sales at Parkland home football games this past fall.

The group’s next fundraisers will be a hoagie sale and a basket social, both in March.

Associate Pastor Kayli Freeman of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, reports youth from five congregations spent a cold November night in the grove to raise awareness for the problem that is homelessness.

She said the youth left the comfort of their own homes to experience the cold, dampness and hunger which is a reality for homeless people.

The sleep-out project raised $1,000 for the Lehigh Conference of Churches and their outreach program for the homeless.

Pastor Kayli says she is looking forward to 2022 with hope and dreams - dreams not only for individual lives but for what the youth group can accomplish in the new year.

Union Lutheran Church youth had a busy fall season of service and fellowship.

They assisted at the Mortgage Burning Celebration, Trunk or Treat, and the basket raffle.

They helped Chef Terry prepare food for church events and had some great time together to cook a breakfast feast and roast hot dogs over a campfire.
