Township offices will close for Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays

The holiday season is nearing and with it comes several items worth noting in Upper and Lower Milford townships.

Both townships offer their proposed 2022 budgets for residents’ review on their respective websites, www.uppermilford.net and www.lowermilford.org.

The budgets are available for review at the respective township offices as well.

The Upper Milford Township building is located at 5671 Chestnut St. The Lower Milford Township building is located at 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road.

Please be aware the Lower Milford Township offices will be closed Dec. 23 and 24 and Dec. 31.

Upper Milford Township offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 27 and Dec. 31.

Until then, however, business continues as scheduled.

Upper Milford Township Supervisors are scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 16. Meetings are in-person and also available via Zoom.

Lower Milford Township Supervisors meet 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16. The board’s organization meeting is scheduled Jan. 3, 2022, according to the township website. Meetings are in-person only.

Volunteer opportunities are available in both townships.

For example, Upper Milford Township is seeking a volunteer resident at-large for the Open Space Committee while Lower Milford Township is welcoming letters of interest for a position as delegate for the Joint Building Board of Appeals.

Visit the websites of your respective township for additional information on the positions, how to apply and to check out other opportunities. While on the website, you also might want to review the menus of permits necessary in the townships, especially if you are planning ahead for 2022.

Lastly, if you are able to donate, the Zionsville Food Pantry is collecting personal care items and laundry detergent for those in need in the community. Blue collection bins are available in the Upper Milford Township building.

Items needed include: deodorant, body wash/bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, razors, shaving cream, dryer sheets and laundry detergent. Please check the dates on items for donation. Unexpired items are requested.

Generosity is welcome year-round and especially at this time of year.

Happy holidays to residents of Upper and Lower Milford townships and all readers of the Lehigh Valley Press newspapers.
