LEHIGH VALLEY CHILDREN’S CENTER is planning a holiday party for staff and their families on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Lehigh University, Iacocca Hall. They may have up to 200 in attendance. They would like adults (individuals or groups) to play holiday elves and conduct activities for the children. Shifts begin at 8 a.m. with set up and end at 3:30 p.m. with clean-up. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB - Fountain Hill and Allentown is looking for volunteers to come on a weekly basis 10-11:45 a.m. or 1:45-3:35 p.m. to assist with games, coloring and/or craft activities with residents. Adult volunteers must pass a Pa. criminal history clearance. Students can complete their community service hours. All volunteers must have completed their COVID 19 vaccine. Minimum age 13. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth is looking for gift wrappers for the nearly 500 gifts provided to its residents. Available shifts are 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, 9 and 10 (if needed). INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY provides 24/7 door through door ride service for seniors aged 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. They need volunteer drivers to help with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. No minimum hours required. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK, Nazareth, is packing food boxes each month for nearly 2,500 seniors in six counties. Many volunteers are needed to help assemble boxes, pack boxes with food and loading packages. Three-hour shifts occur between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 18 and 21. Minimum age 16 with parent. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES, Allentown, is hosting its annual Christmas party for foster families on Saturday, Dec. 11. At the party, Santa will bring each child a special gift. If you would like to adopt a child and/or family (recommend $35 gift for a child, $25 gift card for foster parents), they can provide you with a wish list for each child.
