Robert K. Smith

Robert K. Smith, 91, of Emmaus, died Nov. 4, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Evelyn (Smoyer) Smith. They were married for 44 years. Born in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rena (Meyers) Smith.

He was a Navy veteran machinist mate Petty Officer 2nd class and served during the Korean War on board the USS Fresno and USS Shenandoah.

He was an active member of Brookside Community Church of the Nazarene, Macungie.

He was a very active participant in the Boy Scouts of America for 57 years and served as chief head commissioner, even still attending their summer camp this year.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was an avid history buff, enjoyed photography and loved his country.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Craig Kuhns and his wife, Denise, of Catasauqua; daughters DeAnn Wollen, of Emmaus, Carolyn and her husband, Glenn Trunk, of Allentown, Cynthia and her husband, Mike Billera, of Allentown; a brother, Gerald Starr; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; children from a previous marriage, sons Joseph, of West Lafayette, Ind., James and his wife, Cindy, of Nazareth, John, of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter Barbara and her husband, Chuck Blatt, of Topton.

Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Brookside Community Church.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, 18102. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 10 and 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11 Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
