EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My younger brother’s name is Sam, my mom is Kelly, my dad is Russ and I have one cat.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My supply chain and logistics lab at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute is the class I enjoy the most. This is my favorite because it is the most hands-on and interactive class I have taken. It has set me up for the future and has given me a direction for life after high school.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am in the co-op program through LCTI and have been working in the supply chain field. I have been recognized at my places of work for what I’ve been able to do at a considerably younger age than the average person working in that environment.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 affected these activities?

A. My favorite activity outside of work and school is playing basketball. COVID-19 affected this because I had to take last year off playing in a league.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. It was challenging entering the adult work force at a young age. I was able to have this opportunity through attending LCTI but it was still a challenge to adapt to the different environment.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I’m going to be taking classes at Lehigh Carbon Community College while still working in the supply chain field.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My freshman year teacher at LCTI, Mr. Eck. He was able to provide a great experience and help me navigate my freshman year. He taught me life skills that will follow me throughout my life.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for not conforming and creating my own path through high school.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice would be don’t take a route in life just because you are told to. Find ways to get to where you want to be on your own terms.
