Coplay: Weinlesefest dance planned for Oct. 17

There is a Weinlesefest (grape dance) set for 3-6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

Gates open 2 p.m.

Emil Schanta Band will perform. There will be a selection of wines, delicious food, singalongs, special dances and great music. It is open to the public, and there is a small cover charge.

The Saengerbund is planning a Halloween event Oct. 29. Common Bond will perform. Gates open 5 p.m.

The annual Coplay Halloween parade is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 19.

The borough’s trick-or-treat night is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29, with a rain date of Oct. 30.

The Ironton Rail Trail holds its next public meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the North Whitehall Township building, 3256 Levans Road.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will hold its Kerygma program 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the church social hall. The topic is The Ten Commandments.

The weekly yard waste and leaf pickup continues every Friday by the borough’s sanitation crew.

Grass collection has been suspended until spring of 2022.

Electronics recycling and other items can be dropped off at DCR Technologies, 205 Main St., Northampton.

Drop-offs are by appointment only. Call 610-502-0854 to make arrangements.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.

If unable to attend the Tuesday-morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
