Dorothy Louise Harshman, 74, of Lower Macungie Township, died Sept. 29, 2021. She was the devoted and loving wife of Thomas W. Harshman for 54 years. She was the daughter of the late Wanda L. and Ivan H. Ford.
She was a graduate of Waynesburg College and began her career translating German and Russian scientific papers into English for PPG Industries in Pittsburgh, followed by 10 years as the registration department manager for the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates in Philadelphia. After moving to the Lehigh Valley in 1978, she served as a salesperson, sales manager and general manager of Chadwick Telephone Company, Bethlehem, retiring in 1999.
As a retiree, she greatly enjoyed spending her winters in Sarasota, Fla. and moved there in 2016 only to return to the Lehigh Valley because of a general deterioration in her health.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Glenn W. II, of Allentown; a daughter, Lauren, M.D. and her husband Mark A. Davis, M.D., of Miami, Fla.; siblings, Sarah Ford Gigantelli, of Floral Springs, Fla. and John Ford, of Columbus, Ohio.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
