Margot D. Sachs, 82, of Macungie, died Aug. 15, 2021, in Lehigh Complete Care. She was the wife of Richard W. Sachs. They were married for 60 years. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Willard Slagel and Loretta (Vogel) Mowrer.

She attended Elizabethtown College and graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a registered nurse for St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hazleton and later was a home care nurse for terminally ill patients, retiring in 1980.

She was a religious person and was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Hazleton and attended Lehigh Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Kristin and her husband, William M. Thompson, of Alexandria, Va., Susanna C. and her husband, Robert C. Newman Jr., of Emmaus; a son, Stephen J. and his partner, Nereida DeJesus, of Bethlehem; granddaughters, Olivia K. and Laura G. Newman, of Emmaus; a brother, Glen Slagel. She was predeceased by a brother, James Slagel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memories of Margot be kept in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
