Coplay: Association plans Oct. 2, 3 craft fair

The Coplay Park & Recreation Association will be holding a craft fair 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3 at the Coplay Parkway pavilion, Second and Keefer streets.

Reminder: Upcoming entertainment at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will include American Street Band Sept. 24 and Dave Betz Sept. 26.

For the Friday show, the gates and bar open 5 p.m., with the kitchen opening 5:30 p.m. The gates and bar will open 2 p.m., with the kitchen opening 3 p.m., for the Sunday polka.

Coplay Cemetery Association’s next meeting is 11:45 a.m. Oct. 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. All are invited to attend.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has an special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Old worn-out flags can be deposited into the mailbox for proper disposal.

If you catch a stray or feral cat, call the Sanctuary at Haafsville at 484-894-3401. Staff/volunteers will assist you in placing the cat. They do charge a fee.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 3 S. Fifth St., plans to offer companion niche ossuariums to church members for placement of remains at the cemetery on Hokendauqua Street. They are slated to be offered in February 2022 and are touted as less costly than a casket burial.

The Coplay Senior Citizens group meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Commitment to Family and Community, 165 Cherry St.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.

If unable to attend the Tuesday-morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
