Ronald E. Schmoyer

Ronald E. Schmoyer, 70, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 19, 2021, in Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Vera Isaeva and the late Carol A. (Keeler) Schmoyer. Born in Maxatawny, he was the son of Annabelle (Meck) Zibura.

He was a graduate of Penn Sate University.

He honorably served his country in the New Jersey National Guard.

He was a Boy Scout, earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

He worked as a groundskeeper for Lehigh Country Club and Mack Trucks. He later owned American Landscapers until ISS acquired his company in 1988. He continued with ISS as vice president of the Southeast region from 1991 to 1995 and became president of the Southeast region of One Source Landscape Management in 1995 until he retired.

After moving to The Villages, Fla., he oversaw the golf courses and later worked as a real estate agent for ReMax.

He was a former member of the Macungie Minstrelaires and the Brandywine Minstrels.

He is survived by his wife; mother, of Topton; a daughter, Julie A. Nelson, of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; grandchildren, Mckinnley and Rylie; a brother, Larry J. and his wife, Susie, of Kempton; a sister, Donna and her husband, Gene Wagaman, of Mertztown; nieces and nephews.

He regularly shared with his coworkers that his goal was to assist with his grandchildren’s education. Contributions may be made to Schantz Funeral Home, P.C. to create an education fund for Mckinnely and Rylie, who are college freshmen.
