Herbert Melendez Jr., 49, of Emmaus, died Aug. 27, 2021, in his home. He was the husband of Tanya M. (Castello) Melendez for 23 years. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Herbert Melendez Sr. and Mary Perez-Melendez.
He was a graduate of SUNY Empire State College and was continuing his education to become a psychologist to help those who suffer with addiction. He worked in computer IT for NYC Transit and the Salvation Army. He was very active in the AA Community, serving with the ABE Inter Group and was chair of hospitals, jails and institutions.
He is survived by his wife; parents; daughters, Julia and Madyson; a brother, Paul; a sister, Cindy and her husband, Isaac Mercado; mother-in-law, Theresa Semendoff; aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
