The Library of Congress has planned a variety of programs to celebrate its National Book Festival, “Open a Book, Open the World.” You can watch some of the programs on the television in our library or through links on our webpage Sept. 20-24.

The events include live conversations with authors and video-on-demand programs. There will be events featuring conversations with popular authors Kristen Hannah and Brit Bennett and Library of Congress experts on topics like copyright, genealogical finds and even Spider-Man.

There are programs for all age groups.

Check out the website, loc.gov/events/2021-national-book-festival, for the complete calendar of events.

Don’t forget, the National Sept. 11 Memorial & Museum and other national sponsors have prepared a special poster exhibition to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The exhibition can be viewed on our website under the News & Events tab or on our library television all month long.

September is National Library Card Signup Month. If you don’t have a library card or want to renew your card, just bring in a form of identification, like a driver’s license.

New to Coplay? We accept a utility or other bill that shows your new address.

Registration only takes a few minutes and gives you access to millions of resources from our library, other local libraries and beyond. If that’s not enough to convince you, we’re giving a box of a famous local product - marshmallow Peeps, courtesy of Just Born Inc. - with a sign-up or card renewal, while supplies last.
