Picture days approaching for all Salisbury students

I am finding it so hard to believe it has been 20 years since 9/11.

Twenty years.

Then I remember I had found out I was pregnant with my son only four days before that fateful day and he is now 19 years old.

Never Forget.

The school year is in full swing and events are starting to roll in.

First on the agenda is picture day for Salisbury Middle School Sept. 9. Salisbury High School has picture day Sept. 16 and Salisbury Elementary School students will have their pictures taken Sept. 20.

SES will hold an open house for parents and guardians 7-8:15 p.m. Sept. 9.

SHS will hold an open house for parents and guardians 6:45-9 p.m. Sept. 23 with the dual enrollment meeting immediately before the open house 6-6:45 p.m.

The next school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the administration building.

Salisbury Township schools will have the first early dismissal of the year Sept. 17. SHS and SMS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and SES will dismiss 1:15 p.m.

The movie night at Franko Park, featuring “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be shown at dusk, around 7:15 p.m. Sept. 17. Bring your own chairs and blankets and all park rules apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold Sunday worship services 9:45 a.m. Services will be in the sanctuary Sept. 12 and in the grove Sept. 19.

Salisbury Township yard waste drop off sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Franko Farm will be open Sept. 9 and 11. The Devonshire site will be open Sept. 13, 16 and 18. For a complete listing of acceptable items, visit the township website under the heading “Refuse and Recycling.”
