BREAKING NEWS: Visible police presence at all Parkland Schools

There will be a “more visible” police presence today, Sept. 7, at all Parkland School District schools after a possible threat was received around 8 p.m. Monday.

Superintendent Dr. Mark J. Madson emailed families saying the district contacted local police, who are investigating the threat.

The email stated the police presence is intended to “provide peace of mind and a sense of security to the students and staff.”

“All threats and situations like this are taken very seriously,” Madson wrote. “The safety and concern for our students and staff is our No. 1 priority.”
