In our home, I have the title of “Official Packer.” Whenever we pack for a trip or to move a child into college, Matt will look at the pile of luggage and say, “We can’t fit all that in the van.” Using my 3D Tetris skills, I go to work and fit everything in.

While Matt and Ben were at Philmont, Matt struggled with getting everything repacked in his backpack each morning. One morning, Ben encouraged Matt with “Dad, you need to channel your inner mom.”

The copy deadline for the Oct. 6 column will be Sept. 30.
